ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Marie Lu is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of more than 15 novels, including Legend, The Young Elites, Warcross, Skyhunter, and Stars and Smoke. She graduated from the University of Southern California and initially jumped into the video game industry, working for Disney Interactive Studios as an artist. Now a full-time writer, she spends her spare time reading, drawing, playing games, and getting stuck in traffic. She lives in Los Angeles with her family.

Christina Li is the award-winning author of children’s books Clues to the Universe, which was a Washington Post summer book club pick, and Ruby Lost and Found, which was an NPR and New York Public Library Best Book of the Year and recognized for the Asian Pacific American Librarians’ Award for Best Children’s Literature. She is also the author of the YA title True Love and Other Impossible Odds, as well as a forthcoming fiction debut, The Manor of Dreams (Avid Reader Press), which has been listed as one of TIME Magazine’s most anticipated novels of 2025.
She graduated from Stanford University with degrees in Economics and Public Policy. She loves to daydream about characters and drink too much jasmine green tea. She grew up in the Midwest and California but now calls New York home.

Design Your Future is a nonprofit that empowers motivated high school students on their paths to career success in creative industries. We give students the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, and we give industry professionals the chance to learn from students. Our youth focus is on students at New Design High School and the Seward Park Campus on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Our program focus is creative career development and access to apprenticeships, jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities in the design and creative industry fields.
